About This Course

The web is a very large place, and if you are the typical internet user, you probably visit several websites every day, whether for business, entertainment or education. But have you ever wondered how these websites actually work? How are they built?

In this course, you’ll get your first insight in the world of web development. Which technologies that are used to build digital services and which methods and tools professional developers use.

Web development is the art of creating applications that can be accessed and used through a browser or mobile device. Examples of web and mobile applications are various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and other types of services like Airbnb and Hemnet but also news services like The Daily Telegraph, CNN and more.

Web development is a complex thing but the good news is that it’s not beyond your reach.

This course is geared towards anyone who is interested in taking a sneak peek under the hood of all the digital services that we encounter and use throughout our everyday life.

We will cover the basics of web development from a practical perspective. You will be writing code and build applications from start. In order to get you up to speed, we will introduce you to some of the many tools and best practices used by professional developers.
